We know how important it is for you to eat a healthy diet during this time! Our meals and plans are safe for pregnant or breastfeeding women: we use only all-natural, non-GMO ingredients and don’t use additives that could potentially be harmful to a developing fetus or a nursing child. It’s incredibly important to be aware of how you feel, though, so if you’re hungry or feel you're not consuming enough calories, feel free to add whole grains or proteins to feel satiated!
We, of course, recommend that you check in with your doctor, but nutritionally, our meals are made to feed and nourish completely from the inside out. So, listen to your body and be gentle. Mindfulness is a beautiful thing, especially in periods of change and transition.
Here are a few tips for enjoying Splendid Spoon while pregnant:
Our Lunch and/or Breakfast mealtimes are a great option if you are pregnant. Have a bowl for lunch or smoothie for breakfast every day to boost your vegetable and fruit intake.
As for our Cleanse mealtime, we recommend starting with a modified cleanse and really pay attention to your energy levels throughout the day. If you feel good, then go for a full cleanse (with the okay from your OB/general practitioner, of course). I have included some ideas for a modified cleanse below:
- Enjoy the breakfast of your choice, then start the soup cleanse regimen later so you end your day with soup.
- Incorporate plant-based snacks in between your soups such as grain salads, lettuce wraps, or roasted vegetables with nut or legume dips.
- Build the soup into your normal routine – enjoy in place of your afternoon latte or swap out that bag of chips. The soups are a great way to give any diet a low-calorie plant-based boost.
